November 27, 2024: Two hundred and thirty-five years ago, President George Washington made November 26, 1789 a Day of National Thanksgiving. Seventy-four years after this, President Abraham Lincoln would also give a Thanksgiving Proclamation. This declaration officially established the last Thursday of November as Thanksgiving.[1]
