November 29, 2022: Thirty-four percent (34%) of voters are very confident that the votes were accurately counted and the proper winners were declared in the recent midterm elections. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that an additional 29% are somewhat confident, and 28% are not confident.
The survey also found that a majority of voters (53%) believe that, after an election, just about all results should be reported within a day. Thirty-five percent (35%) think it is reasonable to ask voters to wait for up to two weeks.
Methodology
The survey of 1,200 Registered Voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on November 9-10, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
