November 4, 2024: Sixty-one percent (61%) of voters believe that the United States is a force for good in the world, including majorities of both Republicans and Democrats. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found that just 10% say it is force for evil, another 22% say it is neither, and 6% are unsure.
The survey also found that 75% believe the U.S. was founded on the ideals of freedom, equality, and self-governance. Just 20% believe it was founded on slavery, oppression, and racism.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on October 22-23, 2024. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc.
