November 7, 2022: Forty-eight percent (48%) of voters have used the internet in the past few weeks to look for information about the upcoming midterm elections. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that an equivalent number (48%) have not, and 4% are not sure if they have.

The survey also found that a majority (60%) say it is difficult to find accurate and unbiased information on the internet, including 21% who say it is very difficult. Thirty percent (30%) say it is not difficult, and 11% are not sure.

Methodology

The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on October 27-29, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
