October 17, 2024: Seventy-two percent (72%) of voters say that faith or religion is important in their daily lives, while 26% say it is not important. Those figures include 38% who say faith or religion is very important in their daily lives and 16% who say it is not at all important.

The survey also found that 30% of voters say they attend church, synagogue, or other religious services once a week (22%) or more (8%). Seventeen percent (17%) attend either a couple of times a month (10%) or once a month (7%). Another 52% say they go rarely or never.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on October 9, 2024. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
