October 18, 2021: Following President Biden’s (D) announcement of a mandate for companies to require employee vaccination or weekly testing, a Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 36% of voters have relatives or close friends who will not receive a COVID-19 vaccination to keep their jobs. Forty-two percent (42%) of survey respondents do not have family or close friends who fall in this category, and 23% are not sure.[1]

Forty-five percent (45%) of voters know someone in both categories: those who will quit rather than get vaccinated and those who will get vaccinated to keep their jobs.[1]

By a 55% to 30% margin, those who have already been vaccinated say it’s good for companies to require employee vaccinations or weekly testing. Among those who have not yet been vaccinated or will not get vaccinated, 6% agree with a vaccine mandate and 85% disagree.[2]

Each weekday, Scott Rasmussen’s Number of the Day explores interesting and newsworthy topics at the intersection of culture, politics, and technology.
