October 22, 2025: Twenty-four percent (24%) of voters say the federal government shutdown has had no impact on their daily lives. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 28% say there has been hardly any impact, 15% say there has been some, and just 5% say a lot. Twenty-six percent (26%) were not asked, as they did not know there was a government shutdown.

The survey also found that 36% say the Republican Party is responsible for the shutdown. Thirty-four percent (34%) say the Democratic Party, and 23% place the blame on both parties equally.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on October 13-14, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of Registered Voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.

Scott Rasmussen is the president of RMG Research, Inc. and founder of the Napolitan Institute.
