October 6, 2025: Twenty-seven percent (27%) of voters have very closely followed recent news stories about the federal budget, with another 45% saying they have somewhat closely followed the news stories. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found 23% have not very closely followed, and 6% have not at all closely followed the news stories.
The survey also found that 71% know there is a partial shutdown of the federal government at this time. Eighteen percent (18%) said there is not a partial shutdown at this time.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on October 1, 2025. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of Registered Voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
