The Number of the Day columns published on Ballotpedia reflect the views of the author.
October 9, 2023: Sixty-one percent (61%) of voters believe that securing America’s southern border is more important than helping, compared to 28% of voters who believe the opposite. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that by a 42% to 38% margin, voters think Congress should not continue to provide weapons and funding to Ukraine.
The survey also found that a majority of voters (52%) would favor a proposal to give equal funding for helping Ukraine and securing America’s southern border.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on September 28-29, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the -sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
