September 1, 2022: Fifty-four percent (54%) of voters have a favorable opinion of the FBI. This includes 37% of Republicans and 81% of Democrats. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 36% have an unfavorable opinion, including 57% of Republicans and 12% of Democrats, and 11% are not sure.
The survey also found, however, that 46% of voters think the FBI has too much authority and power. Just 19% say they have too little authority and power.
Methodology
The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on August 18-21, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
