September 11, 2025: Voters in eighteen states have decided 41 death penalty ballot measures since 1912. Of these 41 measures, 11 were to abolish the death penalty, 22 opposed the reinstating, permitting, or requiring of the death penalty, and the last eight were related to the processes surrounding the execution of the death penalty.
