September 15, 2023: Forty percent (40%) of voters rate the way that President Biden has handled the wildfires in Maui as poor, with another 22% rating his performance fair. A Scott Rasmussen National Survey found that only 28% of voters rated his handling of this situation as excellent (7%) or good (21%).

The survey also found that 40% of voters rate the way authorities handled Hurricane Idalia as excellent (10%) or good (30%), while 36% rate their performance as fair (29%) or poor (17%).

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on September 5-6, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the -sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
