September 21, 2018: Sixty percent (60%) of U.S. adults underestimate how much individuals will save this year as a result of last year’s tax cut legislation. A Job Creators Network/ScottRasmussen.com survey found that 23% overestimated the tax cut and 16% provided a good estimate.[1]
The legislation will save an average family of four approximately $1,200 in taxes during 2018. However, 23% of adults believe the savings will amount to $100 or less. Another 21% believe the savings will be between $100 and $500.
A majority of Democrats (58%) believe that a family of four will save $500 or less. So do 41% of independents and 33% of Republicans.
