September 29, 2023: There are 344 state supreme court justices across the country. So far in the third quarter of the year, state supreme court offices announced three vacancies in Missouri, Tennessee, and North Carolina, bringing the total number of announced vacancies to 16 this year. There were 13 vacancies announced in the first half of the year.
