Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day
November 10, 2025: Fifty years ago, on November 10, 1975, the S.S. Edmund Fitzgerald sank on Lake Superior. All 29 men who were on board the ship died. The ship sank 17 miles north-northwest of Whitefish Point, Michigan, due to severe storms and large waves. The event is well remembered in part because of Gordon Lightfoot's 1976 song, “The Wreck of the Edmund Fitzgerald.”[1]
