April 17, 2023: Seventy-one percent (71%) of voters say that their faith is at least somewhat important in their lives, including 44% who say it is Very Important. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that just 14% say it is not at all important, and 13% say it is not very important.
The survey also found that 71% pray at least once a week, including 42% who pray every day or nearly every day. Fifty-one percent (51%) attend religious services at least once a month, including 31% who attend at least once a week.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on March 30-31, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
