December 17, 2019: Today is expected to be the U.S. Postal Service’s busiest day online with “nearly 400,000 customers visiting usps.com for help shipping that special holiday gift.”[1] The online services “allow customers to order free Priority Mail boxes, print shipping labels, purchase postage and even request free next-day Package Pickup.”[1]

Overall, 5 million customers are expected to use this service during the holiday season.[1]

Regardless of whether you check out this online service, time is running short this holiday season. If you want your greeting cards to arrive by Christmas, you have just 3 more days to drop them in the mail. The deadline is this Friday, December 20.[1]

Each weekday, Scott Rasmussen’s Number of the Day explores interesting and newsworthy topics at the intersection of culture, politics, and technology.
