December 26, 2024: Two hundred and forty-eight (248) years ago, George Washington and the Continental Army defeated Hessian forces just outside Trenton, New Jersey. This was the first major U.S. victory in the United States. Washington took advantage of the fact that Hessian forces would be tired from the Christmas activities the night before. This victory showed the public that the Continental Army could win battles and deserved to be supported.[1]
