December 5, 2024: Ninety-one (91) years ago, Prohibition ended in the United States with the passing of the 21st Amendment. This amendment repealed the 18th Amendment, which had banned alcohol nationwide. The 18th Amendment lasted for 19 years in the United States. This era is remembered for the rise of mobsters like Al Capone, who capitalized off of illegally distributing alcohol.[1]
