January 25, 2021: Looking ahead to next year at this time, 24% of voters believe America will be more unified. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 28% expect the nation to be more polarized, while 30% aren't expecting much change.[1]
Not surprisingly, there is a partisan divide. Thirty-five percent (35%) of Democrats expect the nation to be more unified, while just 19% expect things to get worse. Among Republicans, 37% expect the nation to become more polarized, while 18% expect some improvement. As for independent voters, 16% believe the nation will become more unified, while 28% anticipate an increase in polarization.[1]
