January 8, 2019: Over the next few days, more than 180,000 visitors will attend the Consumer Electronics Show (CES) in Las Vegas. More than 4,500 exhibitors will be showing off their latest innovations.[1]
“Visitors are likely to see more dazzling TV screens, intuitive robots, a range of voice-activated devices, and folding or roll-up smartphone displays.” Procter & Gamble will even “demonstrate ways to use facial recognition and AI for improved skin care and beauty recommendations.”[2]
The glittery annual event is produced by the Consumer Technology Association (CTA)—the technology trade association representing the $292 billion U.S. consumer technology industry.
The first CES was held in 1967. In 1977, Apple Computer introduced its first personal computer at the show.
