Scott Rasmussen's Number of the Day for July 29, 2022

July 29, 2022: Just 16% of voters believe that, if a company operates in a community where 10% of the population is Black, but only 5% of their employees are Black, that is proof of discrimination. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 70% think other explanations are possible.
The survey also found that just 36% favor a law requiring large companies to hire workers to match the racial and ethnic composition of their communities. Fifty percent (50%) oppose such a law, and 14% are not sure.
Methodology
The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on July 14-16, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
