July 3, 2023: Fifty percent (50%) of voters say that July 4th is one of the nation’s most important holidays. A Scott Rasmussen National Survey found that an additional 38% say it is somewhere in between the most and least important.

The survey also found that 76% plan to celebrate July 4th. Among those, 76% will watch fireworks, 27% will cook out, 27% will set off firecrackers at home, 27% will watch or participate in a parade, and 23% will go to the beach or lake.

Methodology

The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on June 26-27, 2023. Field work for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the -sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
