June 6, 2022: Fifty-two percent (52%) of voters believe that reducing inflation is more important than reducing carbon emissions to fight climate change. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 35% believe that reducing carbon emissions is more important, and 13% are not sure.
The survey also found that 42% of voters believe that, when it comes to generating energy, fossil fuel production in the United States is more efficient and less damaging to the environment than the process used in other countries. Twenty-five percent (25%) think it is not, and 33% are not sure.
Methodology
The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on May 24-26, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.
The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
