June 8, 2022: Thirty-two percent (32%) of voters believe that China represents a greater threat to the United States than either Russia or domestic terrorists. A Scott Rasmussen national survey found that 27% believe Russia represents the greater threat, 28% think domestic terrorists do, and 14% are not sure.

The survey also found that 53% of voters believe that, should China invade Taiwan, America’s NATO allies should work together to protect Taiwan. Fifteen percent (15%) think that they should not, and 32% are not sure.

Methodology

The survey of 1,200 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on May 24-26, 2022. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population.

The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 2.8 percentage points.
