October 25 2024: Seventy-seven percent (77%) of voters say they are either very (37%) or somewhat (40%) concerned about the safety and quality of the food that they and their families eat. A Napolitan News Service national survey conducted by RMG Research found that 79% are either very (28%) or somewhat (51%) confident that they can assess the safety of food for their families as they shop.
The survey also found that 65% believe that food sold in the United States is generally safer than food sold in other developed countries, and 91% are satisfied with the choices of safe food available to them.
Methodology
The survey of 1,000 registered voters was conducted online by Scott Rasmussen on October 14-15, 2024. Fieldwork for the survey was conducted by RMG Research, Inc. Certain quotas were applied, and the sample was lightly weighted by geography, gender, age, race, education, internet usage, and political party to reasonably reflect the nation’s population of registered voters. Other variables were reviewed to ensure that the final sample is representative of that population. The margin of sampling error for the full sample is +/- 3.1 percentage points.
