Scott is the conservative Republican candidate from District 91. Scott holds 2 degrees from Arkansas Tech University; a BS in Computer Science and an MS in Information Technology. Scott is a life-long Arkansas servant, Arkansas National Guard Veteran, Gulf War Veteran, Youth Football and Baseball coach, VP of the Republican Party of Benton county, an active Member of First Baptist Church Bentonville and the father of 5.
  • Arkansas needs to address the underlying drivers for the remarkable increase in state spending, now ranked 10th highest per person.
  • Arkansas needs a long-term capital budget taken from general revenue, to curb the ongoing tax-and-spend cycle for infrastructure investment.
  • Arkansas needs legislation to protect and ensure the will of the people prevails for our publicly owned historical monuments.
Infrastructure investment is not only includes roads and bridges, but also includes technology infrastructure. Arkansas ranks 48th in the nation in Technology Infrastructure which is holding back economic growth and business investment. The legislative body needs to act soon for investment, to curve this placement and attract new businesses to help fund more technology infrastructure investment.
My favorite historical political figure is Thomas Jefferson. The understanding liberty and foresight of vision to strengthen and grow a budding nation through influence in critical growth areas was remarkable. From media to education to foreign and domestic economics, Jefferson was deliberate and focused to work through challenges while not infringing on individual liberty.
House and Senate are separated by the focus and ideology of evaluation. While they both work to implement protections for the people against state government interference, while leveling the opportunity field, it is the House most directly accountable to the individuals one represents. This distinct difference ensures the lens of evaluation of legislation must be from impact to individual liberty.
It is beneficial, yet not required, as the state legislative body is unlike other local positions and navigation as a legislator is a learning curve.
Ensuring we tie our spending trends to real drives like GDP and population.
Separation of powers is most beneficial to the people. The legislative body is to establish law while the Governor should act to function within that requirement. Difficulties and corruption has often followed too close of ties between Governor and legislative leadership.
Absolutely. Ensuring a working relationship built on transparency and honesty (often difficult to find) ensures that disagreements end in compromise, not deadlock.
Once elected, I will ask to participate as a member of Joint Committee on Advanced Communication and Information Technology, Budget and Finance, Education, and REVENUE AND TAXATION
Direct influence in budget growth, taxation, and infrastructure planning.

Scorecards

See also: State legislative scorecards and State legislative scorecards in Arkansas

A scorecard evaluates a legislator’s voting record. Its purpose is to inform voters about the legislator’s political positions. Because scorecards have varying purposes and methodologies, each report should be considered on its own merits. For example, an advocacy group’s scorecard may assess a legislator’s voting record on one issue while a state newspaper’s scorecard may evaluate the voting record in its entirety.

Ballotpedia is in the process of developing an encyclopedic list of published scorecards. Some states have a limited number of available scorecards or scorecards produced only by select groups. It is Ballotpedia’s goal to incorporate all available scorecards regardless of ideology or number.
