Scott Van Camp is a judge of the Superior Court of Orange County in California. Van Camp assumed office in 2021. Van Camp's current term ends on January 8, 2029.

Van Camp won re-election for judge of the Superior Court of Orange County in California outright in the primary on June 7, 2022, after the primary and general election were canceled.

Gov. Gavin Newsom (D) appointed Van Camp to the court on September 3, 2021, to replace John Dorsey Conley.[1]

Although California Superior Court judges are elected in nonpartisan elections, a press release from Gov. Newsom's office announcing Van Camp's appointment on September 3, 2021, identified him as a Democrat.[2]

Biography

Van Camp received his J.D. from the Pepperdine University School of Law. From 1998 to 2018, he served as a Senior Deputy Public Defender at the Orange County Public Defender’s Office. From 2018 to 2019, he served as a Deputy District Attorney at the Orange County District Attorney’s Office. From 2019 to 2021, Van Camp served as a Court Commissioner at the Orange County Superior Court.[3]
