Scott White (Virginia)
Scott White is the Virginia Commissioner of Insurance. White assumed office on January 1, 2018.
White was first appointed to the position by the State Corporation Commission effective January 1, 2018.[1]
Biography
White served as the deputy general counsel for financial services in the state corporation commission's office of general counsel. He worked in various positions at the commission between 1999 and his appointment in 2018.[1]
Political career
Virginia Commissioner of Insurance (2018-present)
White first assumed office as insurance commissioner on January 1, 2018, succeeding Jacqueline Cunningham. In his capacity as commissioner, White oversees compliance with Virginia's insurance laws and leads the department's regulation of life and health insurance, home, fire, and auto insurance among other property and casualty lines of insurance.[1]
