Scott Wilson (1870-1942) was a federal judge on the United States Court of Appeals for the 1st Circuit. He joined the court in 1929 after an appointment from Herbert Hoover. At the time of the appointment, Wilson was the Chief justice of the Maine Supreme Judicial Court. He assumed senior status on March 31, 1940 until his death on October 22, 1942.[1]

Judicial career

First Circuit

He was nominated to the First Circuit by President Herbert Hoover on September 9, 1929 to replace Charles Fletcher Johnson. He was confirmed by the Senate on October 2nd of that year, and received commission that same day. On March 31, 1940, he assumed senior status and continued to serve in this capacity until his death on October 22, 1942. His vacancy was filled by Peter Woodbury.[1]
