Sean Darcy is principal at Round World Consulting, a New Jersey-based consulting firm that he founded in 2010.[1] Prior to founding the firm, Darcy was a gubernatorial and campaign staffer for former Democratic Governor of New Jersey Jon Corzine.[1][2]
Career
From January 2002 to January 2006, Sean Darcy was press secretary to both former Governor of New Jersey Jim McGreevey (D) and Richard Codey (D) during Codey's service as acting governor of New Jersey.[1] From January 2006 to February 2007, he was communications director for the New Jersey Department of Community Affairs.[1] From February 2007 to March 2009, he was press secretary and cabinet liaison for former Governor of New Jersey Jon Corzine (D). He was also communications director for Corzine's 2009 gubernatorial campaign from March to November 2009.[1] In 2010, he founded Round World Consulting.
Beginning in 2010, Darcy consulted for Bergen County executive Dennis C. McNerney.[3] In 2011, former Governor of New York David Paterson (D) announced that he hired Darcy to handle his public relations.[4] In 2012, he was named to Democratic candidate Bill Pascrell's successful campaign for the United States House of Representatives from New Jersey's 9th Congressional District.[5]
In 2013, he served on U.S. Rep. Frank Pallone Jr.'s (D) campaign team for the Democratic nomination during the U.S. Senate special election to fill the seat left vacant by the death of Frank Lautenberg.[6] Pallone lost the nomination to eventual election winner Cory Booker (D). Darcy also served as spokesperson in 2013 for Patriot Majority, a 527 group run by Democratic strategist Craig Varoga.[7]
In 2014, Darcy was campaign spokesman and directed the communications team for Bonnie Watson Coleman's (D) successful campaign for the United States House of Representatives from New Jersey's 12th Congressional District.[8][9]
In 2012, Darcy was named to the list of Top 500 Influencers in American Politics by Campaigns & Elections Magazine.[10]
