|- I believe in equitable education for every student in a safe, welcoming and diverse environment. Each student deserves to be treated the same way and have access to similar resources in a classroom that celebrates uniqueness. Inclusion is for everyone. Every ethnicity, every race, every gender, all pronouns, and every educational need. I stand against homophobia in all forms. I've met enough families now to know that they are leaving Cherokee County or putting their kids in private school or home school due in part to racism they've faced in our schools. The racism coming from lack of knowledge, lack of empathy, and a total sense of apathy.
- I believe in grade-level appropriate education regarding our nation’s history, and growth. Systemic racism is real, and Cherokee County School District needs to confront it head on. No book banning, rating or censoring. Parents/caregivers have a choice to opt out of assignments and books. Parents/caregivers should make the choice for their children. Book banning isn't unique. It's another example of history repeating itself. Our schools are not providing pornographic materials to students. Our schools and our teachers are not the enemy. CRT is college-level curriculum and does not belong in CCSD K-12 schools. HB-1084 passed in Georgia that will not allow CRT in Georgia schools. But, honest grade-level content should be taught t
- I believe our schools need to serve the whole student - academically, emotionally, and mentally. I want to see the CCSD C.A.R.E.S. program grow. Special needs students need a full range of resources and support provided and funded by CCSD.
