Sean Spiller (Democratic Party) ran for election for Governor of New Jersey. He lost in the Democratic primary on June 10, 2025.

He previously served as mayor of Montclair, New Jersey from 2020 to 2024 and represented the third ward on the Montclair City Council from 2012 to 2020.[1]

Biography

Spiller earned a bachelor’s degree from Rutgers University and a master’s degree from Ramapo College of New Jersey. Spiller served as mayor of Montclair, New Jersey from 2020 to 2025. From 2012 to 2020, he represented the third ward on the Montclair City Council.[1] His other professional experience includes working as a high school science teacher in the Wayne Public Schools and serving as president of the New Jersey Education Association (NJEA).[1]
