Campaign themes
2014
Sullivan's campaign website highlighted the following issues:[3]
Jobs
- Excerpt: "Targeted tax incentives for creating small business and jobs. Small business is the engine that drives our economy, accounting for almost half the private-sector jobs in Pennsylvania. We need to prioritize policies that will lead to the creation of jobs through small businesses, like tax credits for purchases of capital equipment, tax credits for newly created jobs, and tax credits for hiring the long-term unemployed."
Education
- Excerpt: "Restoring the $1 billion in education funding that the Corbett administration cut. While our schools struggle for funding, the Corbett administration and General Assembly continue to give sweetheart deals to favored groups. I’ll fight to restore and increase funding for public education."
Government reform
- Excerpt: "Campaign finance reform. Powerful special interests – like the oil and gas industry – take advantage of Pennsylvania’s no-limit political donation laws to exercise an undue influence over public policy in our state. I support individual donation limits of no more than $2,000 per candidate and will fight to have those limits enacted into law."
LGBTQ Rights
- Excerpt: "Pennsylvania should play a leadership role in making our society more fair, equal and inclusive for LGBT people. Everyone should have the right to live, work, and build a family without harassment or discrimination."
Supporting Small Business
- Excerpt: "As State Representative, I will be a strong partner working alongside these leaders to help their businesses grow and thrive."
