Sean V. McCarthy
Sean V. McCarthy was a judge for the Franklin County Court of Common Pleas in Columbus, Ohio. He was appointed to the court by Governor John Kasich on March 6, 2015, to fill the vacancy created by the election of Timothy S. Horton to the Ohio Tenth District Court of Appeals. McCarthy assumed office on March 16, 2015, and served out the remainder of Horton's unexpired term, which ended on July 1, 2015.[1]
Education
McCarthy received his undergraduate degree from Loyola University Chicago and his J.D. from the Capital University School of Law.[1]
Military service
McCarthy served with the U.S. Army in Afghanistan from 2011 to 2012.[1]
Career
Before his appointment to the court, McCarthy served as the deputy director of the Drug Prosecution Unit of the Franklin County Prosecutor’s Office.[1]
