Sen. Rand Paul (R-KY) announced his bid for the presidency this morning via his campaign website two hours before a scheduled rally in Louisville, KY. A formal announcement is expected at this stop.[1]
The announcement comes a day after he released a campaign video calling himself a "different kind of Republican."[2]
Paul, who was elected to the United States Senate in 2010, is the son of former Rep. Ron Paul (R-TX) who ran for president three times.
