I'm a NH citizen, born and raised. I've never lived anywhere else. My long term partner and I own a condo that we live in with our 2 cats. I am a lifelong musician and currently work as an audio engineer. I try to think critically and better myself everyday. I always want to question my stances to try and make the right decision when it matters most. I'm an average person just trying to make this world better than how I found it.
  • I am always trying to be open an honest. I don't want to hide any bias I may have, and I would rather state my beliefs clearly and why I believe them.
  • I believe in goodness. I want to live in a society that encourages goodness and protects people from those that mean harm.
  • Critical thinking is essential when it comes to determining what is best for all. Every issue has nuance that needs to be stated. There is always a best answer that can only be found if we allow ourselves the opportunity see each other's point of view. We shouldn't let ourselves be governed by fear and greed.
I want more democracy. I don't think the government should be separate from the people. I think every citizen should have the right to easily voice their opinion and the law should directly reflect the will of the public. That means a lot more than voting for a representative every 2 years that may or may not listen to what you have to say.
There are many figures that I pull inspiration from, but no one person that I would want to make an example of. I do my best whenever I can, regardless of what someone else might've done differently.
The YouTube channel "Some More News" is something that I usually agree with and tends to be comprehensive.
I try to think critically and follow nuance. I don't know if that would make me successful in the sense of re-election, but hopefully in the sense of doing right any all opportunities.
Like many NH natives. I got my work permit at 14 in order to get a job at Market Basket. I think I was there for about a year before moving into restaurant jobs.
I think a large group of people should absolutely have more say than a single person.
Probably. They've learned how to work the system a little better. I don't necessarily think it should be that way, but as of now I think it would certainly help you pass legislation.
I don't think you need to be friends in order to have an open, honest, and civil discussion on any given issue.
I'm not very good at being anyone but myself. I plan to do what I think I should, without regard to what others do or have done. No matter what level of agreement or respect I have for them.
I don't have any plans beyond this campaign, but I'd be open to any office that was asked of me.
An teacher is telling the class about how in english a double negative makes a statement into a positive, but in other languages a double negative is still a negative. However, a double positive is always positive. There is no language where a double positive means a negative.

Then a kid in the back of the class says, "yeah, right."
I think there are times of emergency that need decisions to happen quickly and not be bogged down by the bureaucratic process. That does not mean those decisions should be free from oversight or consequences. And I don't think the timing of the oversight or consequences should be limited to after the emergency subsides.
Forgive my terrible memory, but I believe I was endorsed by the NEA-NH in my campaign 2 years ago. I can't find evidence of it though.
I would be most passionate about legislating environmental protections.
They are essential for a system that wants to be considered a democracy.

Hello, I'm Seph. I'm a New Hampshire native running as a Democrat for State Representative in Strafford House District 19 in Rochester. From a very young age, I was instilled with a respect for liberty, honesty and compassion. I’ve been working many various jobs non-stop in the area since I was 14 years old and graduated from Keene State College with a BA in music. At present, my long-term partner and I were able to purchase a condo in Rochester that we share with our two cats. I believe in democracy, and am interested in contributing to my community.

To me, honesty in an organization is serious transparency. Because I believe an informed public is essential to a functioning democracy, people should be given easy access to government. An honest transparent government encourages active input from the public – the best way to hold our elected officials accountable.

Thank you for reading and for being a part of the democratic process. I would greatly appreciate your vote both in the primary election in September, and in the general election in November. I'm ready to listen and serve you in the best way I can.
  • I trust expertise where it can be found. I would like that to be apart of the decision making and policy creating process.
  • I try to have a strong moral fiber, and I am willing to fight for what I believe in.
  • I'm no one special. Just your average NH citizen who wants to leave the world in a better place than I found it.
My top 3 concerns are as follows. 1, the environment. I love having 4 seasons, and appreciating nature. I hate the heatwaves and droughts that are becoming more and more common. It's getting warmer in NH every year, with extended stretches of 90 degree heat and snow melting away in the middle of winter. I miss real winters, and I want to bring them back. We don't have long until this planet becomes consistently dangerous for human life. 2, education. that is the best way for us to build a stronger society and a better, more stable future for us and our children. My favorite (paraphrased) quote from 1984, the book everyone loves to quote, is, "a well educated public eventually realizes is has no need to be governed." 3, political honesty and transparency. This is the issue that got me into the race. The people need to have a voice in the capital. Yes, with our representatives, but also a direct line to what is being discussed and how to determine what the best policy is. This may need to happen first in order to progress on the other topics.
Bernie Sanders is definitely my biggest political icon. Someone with strong moral values and an idea of what to do about them. I also admire the shift he was able to bring to the political discourse on the left.
Some More News on YouTube is something I'd recommend to understand my views. I agree with almost everything that is covered on that channel. As a warning, the videos tend to be long and the humor tends to be absurd. It's one of the places I look to when trying to better inform myself on an issue because they're honest and comprehensive.
I'm someone who's always trying to better myself. I have strong ethical values and don't like to voice an opinion on an issue without gaining a better understand of the facts. I want myself, my life, my family, and my community to be better, always.
First job was at Market Basket when I was 14. Following that I worked in a few restaurants and many other various jobs. Including a number of labor intense jobs and temp work.
Hitchhiker's Guide To The Galaxy because it's fun and intelligent and absurd and insightful. I tend to enjoy media that covers a wide range of ideas and emotions.
I think droughts are going to continue and cause major problems without intervention that isn't completely dependent on us. I also think the Overton window in NH is especially wide which may be challenging to reconcile.
The goal is to have as representative of a legislature as possible. Ideally, you should be able to achieve the unicamerally, but I do see the sense in adding a body to offset any bias. But that offsetting can definitely become too strong and/or redundant which may have happen in the federal legislature.
Sure, I don't even think it's necessarily a bad thing to be a career politician. I think it only becomes bad when that status is used to enrich themselves and entrench themselves in power. As well as it can be easy to become detached from the reality of the common citizen.
I don't think that should really be a factor when it comes to discussing policy. You can be honest and civil with or without being friends.
It should be an apolitical process. I think it would make more sense to base the districts off of geography and community than bringing political leanings into the process at all. Of course you would still need to make occasional adjustments to address population density, but I think that would be a much more honest way to create districts.
I'm interested in serving the people. I will be honored to serve any office that they select for me.
Emergencies do happen. Actions need to be taken quickly in some cases where you don't want bureaucracy slowing things down. If there's time for the legislature to oversee it, then they should do so. If there isn't time, I support an authority making a decision when it is needed.
Necessary, yes. Though I'd rather the compromise be with creating the most good instead of the current mode of appeasing the least principled in order to make the smallest amount of progress.
