Shammara Henderson (Democratic Party) is a judge of the New Mexico Court of Appeals. She assumed office on March 1, 2020. Her current term ends on December 31, 2032.
Henderson ran for re-election for judge of the New Mexico Court of Appeals. She won in the retention election on November 5, 2024.
Henderson was appointed on February 14, 2020, by Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham (D) to replace M. Monica Zamora. Henderson was the first African-American judge appointed to the court, according to the Associated Press.[1]
Education
Henderson received her B.A. from American University in 2004. She received her J.D. from the University of New Mexico School of Law in 2007.[2]
