- I want to personally be more transparent if elected to this position. Our community has been voicing their concerns on this for some time. They have questions about finances, policies, and accountability. I would like to find fresh new ways to address this. One idea I have is to have a weekly video update on what is happening in the schools, with guests to interview, and things that are going on with our board.
- I want to find new ways to be inclusive in our district. There are so many students from different backgrounds that would thrive if we can find new ways to help balance their load. For example, is there a way we could have "in the moment" audio translation for our students and/or parents when English is their second language?
- Our school levy did not pass in the fall of 2024. There were several reasons for this, but I have noticed that there has been a lot of negativity for our school district. One way to combat this would be for us to make it easier for our community to volunteer in our schools to see first hand the amazing things that happen there every day. I want to organize a huge volunteer drive, and have the board participate. Also, how could we work with the city to bring more of the positivity from our school district to our community? For example, could we have one of the dance groups from our schools perform at the Tomato Festival next year?
