Shaniqua Rose (also known as Shan) is a member of the Orlando City Council in Florida, representing District 5. She assumed office on June 24, 2024.
Rose ran for re-election to the Orlando City Council to represent District 5 in Florida. She won in the general election on November 4, 2025.
Biography
Shaniqua Rose earned an associate degree from Valencia College in 2007, a bachelor's degree from Polk State College in 2015, and a graduate degree from American Public University in 2018. Rose's professional experience includes working as CEO and president of Change For The Community. She previously worked for the City of Orlando Economic Development in the community redevelopment agency and permitting. Rose has been affiliated with the NAACP, the League of Women Voters, and the National Congress of Black Women.[1][2]
