I have been a resident of Platte County for over 25 years. I am married with 3 sons. My oldest two graduated from West Platte High School and are now seeking post-secondary education. My youngest has many special needs, which gives me a unique insight into caring for those who cannot care for themselves.
  • I have worked in the Platte County Public Administrator’s Office since 2018.
  • It has been an honor to serve the most vulnerable citizens of our county. I look forwarding to using my knowledge and experience to act as guardian and conservator for the incapacitated and disabled citizens of Platte County.
  • I am running for the position of Platte County Public Administrator because I believe in the importance of the work being done by this office and I want to ensure that the wards being cared for by this office have continuity of care. Re-electing me as the Platte County Public Administrator ensures that.
The primary problem that affects the wards served by the Platte County Public Administrator’s Office is lack of funding, specifically for mental health and developmentally disabled services. This problem is not unique to Platte County, however. For our mentally ill population this might mean less access to respite beds during crisis situations. For our developmentally disabled population this might mean fewer waivers awarded which provide them with the daily support they need to live in their own homes. This is a problem that we are constantly addressing.
I look up to several strong females in my family. They have faced many challenges throughout their lifetime, but with hard work and perseverance they have found success.
I am uniquely qualified to be re-elected as the Platte County Public Administrator. Not only do I have experience working with those with disabilities due to my time spent working in the Public Administrator’s Office, I also have experience working with working with loved ones with disabilities in my personal life. My youngest son has many special needs. Through both experiences I have increased my understanding of disabilities, increased my empathy for others, learned how to advocate successfully, and learned how to access a multitude of resources.
I am honest, trustworthy, fair, responsible and caring. Making decisions for people who cannot make them for themselves takes a person who is all those qualities.
To leave this world a little better than I found it.
The first job I had was at Subway and I held that position for approximately a year.
