Campaign themes

2018

Dubberly’s campaign website stated the following:

Shannon’s 6 for the 6th

1. Decorated Counterterrorism Operative

Shannon served in the War on Terror and received multiple awards for his efforts in helping create a terror watchlist that is still used today. He possesses firsthand knowledge of the dangers America faces and knows the only way to keep our country safe is through a strong national defense and proactive counterterrorism efforts.

2. Opposes Illegal Immigration and Will Fight For a Secure Border

Shannon opposed Obama's overreach with DACA. He believes we need to strengthen our border and will fight to stop the tide of illegal drugs, gangs and traffickers that cross our border every day.

3. Supports Free Market Policies

Shannon wants less government regulation and more free market growth. His policies will loosen the restraints on entrepreneurs and investors in order to encourage technological and economic development in TX-06. Shannon believes while growth and innovation are important, it is equally important to maintain the District’s rural beauty and distinct culture.

4. Energy Professional Who Will Fight for Lower Taxes

Shannon brings a unique perspective to this race as the only candidate to have worked in the oil & gas industry. He understands the important role the energy industry plays in our economy and how levying more taxes and creating unnecessary and burdensome regulations will hurt our economy and the citizens of TX-06.

5. Staunchly Pro-Life

Shannon is an avid defender of the innocent and will do everything in his power to protect those who can't protect themselves. Shannon believes in sound policy that provides support to expecting mothers and also provides information about the available alternatives to abortion.

6. A Proud Pro-Guns Texan

Shannon is a strong supporter of the 2nd Amendment and a Lifetime Member of the NRA. He will stand up to the Liberal narrative that ‘guns are the problem’, and will fight to make sure you will always be able to exercise your Constitutional right to defend your family and property.[3]
