Campaign themes

2014

O'Brien published the following campaign statement on her campaign website:

As a member of the Fontana Unified School District Board of Trustees, I have supported Fontana students and parents, not only by working with the Board to set policies and vote on pertinent personnel and administrative matters, but also by identifying opportunities from outside the District that have helped our students thrive.

Over the past year I have successfully raised money from local businesses in support of the Parent Teacher Association (PTA), recruited and sponsored scholarship students for the award winning Summer Business and Leadership Institute, and provided jobs skills training through volunteer opportunities. As the new school year begins, I am eager to do even more on behalf of our students. The new Local Control and Accountability Plan (LCAP) affords us many opportunities to address priorities that the community has had a role in defining. In meeting the objectives of the Plan, I am looking forward to working with the Board and Superintendent on key issues that will enhance student achievement.

Thank you for considering me for re-election. I humbly ask for your vote.[6]
