m a mom, grandmother, small business owner, community servant, and proud first generation American running for Assembly District 35. I want to take my business and community service experience to Carson City, where we can make policy that serves you.
  • Sharifa supports our officers and first responders, and the sacrifices that they make everyday to keep us safe. Sharifa wants to assist our first responders and pass legislation that will keep our communities safe, and protect our most vulnerable citizens. Sharifa will also push legislation that will provide funding, training, and support to our police, firefighters, and public safety agencies so that they can continue to protect us and themselves the best way possible.
  • Sharifa believes that everyone should have access to quality and affordable healthcare. As a dentist for many years Sharifa has been a staunch advocate for healthcare reform because no one should be denied access to their basic healthcare needs because they simply can’t afford it. In the legislature Sharifa is prepared to support and push legislation that will lower prescription drug costs, and prioritize all forms of healthcare including mental health. She is ready to take on Big Pharma and prioritize what’s best for Nevada over corporations. Sharifa is also committed to investing in Nevada's healthcare system and infrastructure to increase the quality of healthcare that is provided in Nevada.
  • Sharifa Wahab is a pro-choice candidate and a supporter of women's reproductive rights. She believes that what a woman discusses with her doctor has no place in politics and that includes matters of abortion and contraception. Sharifa is committed to supporting women’s reproductive freedoms and in the legislature will ensure that Nevada remains a state that respects every woman’s right to make her decisions.

Integrity and good character are the most important characteristics for elected officials.
The core responsibility is to bring forward issues that represent the problems facing Assembly District 35 and always putting the community
I would like all people around me to say I was a caring, humble, and generous person with those around me.
The ideal relationship is one that is balanced and communicative by both sides.
Economic diversification, improving our public schools, and attracting more health care providers to Nevada are the state's biggest challenges for the next decade. I look forward to working with all parties to ensure we solve these challenges and bring forward real solutions Nevadans can be proud of.
I do believe that but it is also beneficial for legislators to come from all backgrounds and bring diverse views to Carson City. From healthcare, education, small businesses, and anywhere in between. These different perspectives are critical to ensuring we pass good legislation in the state legislature.
Yes, it is important to work in a bipartisan manner to provide solutions for Nevada's toughest problems
I am looking to be elected to Assembly District 35, and that is where my focus is at.
During my time working in the community, I have encountered many stories regarding homelessness and families being priced out of their homes. Seeing families from all backgrounds go homeless has been moving, and it is why I want to explore tackling the skyrocketing costs of housing due to corporate greed.

Government accountability and transparency are two important subjects our state and elected officials must maintain in order to keep the trust of the public. If elected, I will uphold the trust of the public and serve as a true public servant.
