Three of the seven seats on the Porterville Unified School District board of trustees were supposed to be up for by-district general election on November 8, 2016. The election was canceled, however, due to lack of opposition. Incumbent Hayley Buettner, newcomer Tomas Velasquez, and incumbent Sharon Gill were the only candidates to file for the Trustee Area 1, 2, and 6 seats, respectively. Because of this, they were elected to the board by default.[1]

Results
