Sharon Har
Sharon Har (Democratic Party) was a member of the Hawaii House of Representatives, representing District 42. She assumed office on November 6, 2012. She left office on November 8, 2022.
Har (Democratic Party) ran for re-election to the Hawaii House of Representatives to represent District 42. She lost in the general election on November 8, 2022.
Har was first elected to the Hawaii House of Representatives in 2006. She represented District 40 from 2006 to 2012. She was redistricted into District 42 in 2012 and won re-election.
Har served as state House majority whip from 2013 to 2014.
Biography
Har's professional experience includes working as an attorney with Bays, Deaver, Lung, Rose and Holma; as an aide to then-Lieutenant Governor of Hawaii Mazie Hirono (D); as a law clerk to the Honorable Eden Elizabeth Hifo, First Circuit Court, and as an intern in the Office of the Prosecuting Attorney.

The signature filing deadline for candidates wishing to run in this election was June 3, 2014. Incumbent Sharon E. Har defeated Nicole Ferguson and Michael Golojuch in the Democratic primary, while Suk Moses was unopposed in the Republican primary. Har defeated Moses in the general election.[4][5][6]

Har won re-election in the 2012 election for Hawaii House of Representatives District 42. Har ran unopposed in the August 11 Democratic primary and defeated Marissa Capelouto (R) in the general election, which took place on November 6, 2012.[7][8][9]

Har won re-election to the 40th District seat in 2010. She defeated Michael Doyle in the September 18 primary. The general election took place on November 2, 2010. Marissa Capelouto ran on the Republican ticket for this seat.[10]

On November 4, 2008, Har won re-election to the Hawaii House of Representatives from Hawaii's 40th District, defeating Jack Legal (R). Har received 7,294 votes in the election while Legal received 3,348 votes.[11] Har raised $52,175 for her campaign; Legal raised $34,645.[12]

Noteworthy events
Arrested for Drunk Driving (2021)
On February 22, 2021, Har was arrested for suspicion of drunk driving. Har later stated that she had taken medication with codeine and then had a beer before driving.[13][14] However, later documents released by local police disputed Har's statement that she had taken medication. Har's attorney stated that Har "is dedicated to regaining the trust of the community.”[15]
