As a dedicated public servant, Chinese woman, and mother of two young kids, I am running for office to give voice to District 3 residents, particularly working families, who want to see common sense change for our neighborhoods and city. For close to 2 decades, my commitment to serving San Francisco, particularly the underserved communities has been clear.

My first career was as a municipal urban planner for a decade, including 8 years for San Francisco’s Planning Department, including projects in District 3.

I was an executive in the private sector leading mixed-use development and community outreach. During the pandemic.

I was the founding Executive Director of a homeless housing nonprofit, and built the City’s first Tiny Homes interim homeless housing community with philanthropic funds.

Prior to running for office, I worked for an internal NGO leading an economic development initiative to diversify the city’s economic base by growing a sustainability innovation hub to help revitalize San Francisco’s downtown.

I have also served San Francisco as an appointed commissioner by 3 different mayors with the Treasure Island Development Authority and the San Francisco Municipal Transportation Board.

For me, the choice is not about who wants change the most, it’s about who can deliver the change that we need. Being effective requires the ability to build agreement across the Board, with the Mayor’s office, and with City departments.
  • PUBLIC SAFETY IN OUR COMMUNITY - As Supervisor I plan on addressing the real, urgent public safety issues the District is facing including car break-ins, theft and vandalism at small businesses, attacks on seniors, open-air drug trade, and illegal fencing operations. My focus on fully staffing our police department, expanding community alternatives, and resourcing bilingual victims rights services will help us turn the tide on public safety in the district.
  • AFFORDABLE HOUSING - As someone who grew up in public housing, I am a strong advocate for expanding all types of affordable housing, including inclusionary, public, social and co-op housing. I have and will continue to prioritize making affordable housing projects feasible, protecting renters, and advocating for housing development citywide. HOMELESSNESS & MENTAL HEALTH -In District 3, we have seen homelessness change, including more unsheltered homelessness in the lower Polk area. As Supervisor, I’ll ensure that our current spending on homelessness is effective, that we adequately resource outreach, shelter, and permanent supportive housing so that people can enter our system and exit to positive outcomes.
  • TRANSPORTATION - I believe that access to public transportation is a fundamental right and should be regarded and funded by the government in that manner. I also believe that all road users can and should be safe while using San Francisco Streets. As a former SFMTA Commissioner, I am the only candidate who has fought for more funding, championed free muni for youth, safe routes to school, improved muni operations, and a better pedestrian experience on our streets and will continue to do so as Supervisor. ECONOMIC DEVELOPMENT - We need to continue to make it easier to do business in San Francisco. As Supervisor, I would work to support our small business community, while pushing big picture ideas to revitalize our downtown.
The policy areas I am focused and committed to improving for District 3 and San Francisco are public safety, housing, homeless and mental health, transportation and economic development.
