Meieran ran in the 2012 election for Oregon House District 36. Meieran was defeated by Jennifer Williamson in the Democratic primary on May 15. Benjamin Jay Barber also ran. Bruce Neal ran unopposed in the Republican primary. The general election took place on November 6, 2012. Incumbent Democrat Mary Nolan did not seek re-election.[1][2][3]
