Sharon Ovington
Sharon L. Ovington was a federal magistrate judge for the United States District Court for the Southern District of Ohio. She was sworn into this position on October 28, 2002. [1]
Early life and education
Born and raised in Cincinnati, Ohio, Judge Ovington received her bachelor's degree, cum laude, from the University of Cincinnati in 1978, and her J.D. from the University of Dayton School of Law in 1981.[1]
Career
Judge Ovington began her career in 1981 as an assistant Montgomery County prosecutor. In 1988, she joined the Montgomery County Court of Common Pleas as a referee. She served in this position until 1992, when she then entered private practice. She worked at Bieser, Greer & Landis until 1994, and then served as partner with Greger & Ovington from 1995 until her appointment as a federal magistrate judge.[1]
