A Sharon Township Fire & EMS Tax Levy proposal was approved on the May 7, 2013, election ballot in Washtenaw County, which is in Michigan.
This measure authorized the Township of Sharon to renew a property tax levy of 0.5 mill ($0.50 per $1,000 of assessed valuation) for 5 years in order to fund fire protection services and emergency medical services. The estimated first year revenue from this tax is $50,000.[1]

| “ | Shall Sharon Township impose a renewal of up to 0.5 mill ($0.50 per $1,000 of taxable value) in the tax limitation imposed under Article IX, Sec. 6 of the Michigan Constitution and levy it for 5 years, 2013 through 2017 inclusive, for fire protection and emergency medical services, which 0.5 mills will raise an estimated $50,000 in the first year the millage is levied of which all or a portion may be disbursed to such other local emergency units of government as the Township Board determines appropriate?[1][2] | ” |
